Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Hampton Roads in Newport News, VA seeks a Pharmacist for a per diem role. You will provide clinical support, oversee drug distribution and IV admixture, and ensure safe medication use during patient care.

Minimum qualifications include state licensure and the potential for 401k eligibility after hours; a PharmD or BS Pharm and residency experience are preferred to support a high-quality inpatient post-ICU program.

Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Responsibilities

• Have a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Inform and instruct patients on any drugs to be used after discharge.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.
