Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital in Latrobe, PA is seeking a Pharmacist for Per Diem coverage to support weekend and on-call shifts in a busy inpatient setting.

The role focuses on drug distribution, clinical support, and patient education, ensuring safe and effective pharmacotherapy for critically ill patients with on-site weekend work and periodic on-call evenings.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain adequate pharmacy drug supplies at all times.
• Inform and instruct patients on discharge medications.
• Develop and participate in employee training programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.

Position: Pharmacist - Per Diem

Location: Latrobe, PA

Schedule: Per Diem (1 weekend per month onsite, 1-2 evenings per month on call - Sat/Sun Hours are 10a-1p)Compensation: $60.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• As the Pharmacist, you will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.
• Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
• Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
