Job summary

Select Medical's SSH-Knoxville unit seeks a Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services in a hospital setting. The role covers drug distribution, central operations and IV admixture in a fast-paced environment.

The incumbent will monitor patient drug therapies, ensure drug availability, and contribute to staff education and quality initiatives while supporting discharge planning. This is a Per Diem, after-hours on-call and weekends position.

Qualifications

  • Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
  • Current State licensure required.
  • BLS if required by State.
  • Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.

Responsibilities

  • Have working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
  • Provide clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
  • Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
  • Inform and instruct patients on drugs to be used after discharge; participate in new employee training and education programs.
  • Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring.
  • Promote an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Pharmacy degree (PharmD or BS Pharm)

Responsibilities

  • Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
  • Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
