Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital - Belhaven in Jackson, MS seeks a Pharmacist to cover per diem shifts. The role involves ensuring drug distribution, central operations, IV admixture, and patient education on discharge medications.

You will participate in clinical support, maintain drug supplies, and contribute to staff training while supporting a patient-focused, high-quality care environment.

Qualifications

• Requires valid state licensure to practice as a Pharmacist.
• Candidate must hold current State licensure.
• BLS if required by state regulation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support to hospital pharmacy in a fast-paced setting.
• Ensure adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy.
• Educate patients on discharge medications and directions.
• Assist in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• As the Pharmacist, you will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.
• Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
• Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.
• Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
