Job summary

RUSH Specialty Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Pharmacist for per diem coverage every 3rd weekend and occasional weekday shifts. You will work across pharmaceutical services, ensuring drug distribution, IV admixture, and clinical support in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.
• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or hospital residency.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of drug distribution systems and IV admixture.
• Provide clinical support in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Maintain adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy.
• Inform and instruct patients on discharged medications.
• Develop and participate in new employee training and education programs.
• Participate in patient drug therapy monitoring and quality improvement.

Responsibilities

• As the Pharmacist, you will be responsible for having a working knowledge of all areas of pharmaceutical services including drug distribution systems, central operations and IV admixture.
• Providing clinical support of the hospital pharmacy function in a fast paced environment.
• Maintaining adequate drug supplies at the pharmacy at all times.
• Correctly informing and instructing patients on any drugs to be used after they are discharged.
• Developing and participating in new employee training and education programs.
• Participating in patient drug therapy monitoring.Promoting an environment of continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires successful completion of all educational requirements as mandated for state licensure.
• Current State licensure required.
• BLS if required by State.

Preferred Qualifications

• Pharm D or BS Pharm plus advanced degree or completion of hospital pharmacy residency.
