Job summary

The Kroger Co. in New Albany, IN is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to ensure safe dispensing, patient counseling, and compliance with state and federal regulations. You will oversee prescription orders and maintain accuracy within a dynamic retail setting.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Pharmacist license in the state where employment is sought, with no stipulations or Board ordered restrictions.
• Graduate of a US School of Pharmacy or have passed a foreign equivalency exam.

Responsibilities

• Promote trust and respect among associates
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome and valued by answering questions about products in the department and store
• Communicate effectively with customers and store personnel
• Possess knowledge of pharmaceutical products and supplies to competently make recommendations to patients and prescribers
• Receive verbal RX orders and accurately reduce to writing in adherence with state and federal laws
• Interpret, fill/refill, label and bag prescription orders accurately
• Evaluate appropriateness of RX orders with patient safety in mind
• Provide drug counseling to customers and prescribers
• Maintain records including insurance and assist with OTC recommendations
• Demonstrate RX computer system proficiency
• Maintain inventory and controlled substances records in compliance with regulations
• Promote immunizations to patients and provide them safely and effectively
• Oversee administrative needs in the department in the absence of the department manager
• Run, review and interpret reports
• Report safety incidents or miss-fills as per policy

Education

Current Pharmacist license (Indiana)

Graduate of US School of Pharmacy or foreign equivalency exam
