Job summary

ARS Treatment Centers in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Pharmacist to join our outpatient medication-assisted treatment program. The Pharmacist will ensure accurate dispensing of take-home medications and adhere to federal, state, and Virginia regulations.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the Director of Medical Services, performing inventory reconciliations, maintaining HIPAA and CARF standards, and supporting patients with safe, compliant medication management.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited pharmacy program.
• License from the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Pharmacist.
• Understanding of drug addiction and methadone.
• Successful completion of state required background check and trainings (e.g. CPR and First Aid).
• Completion of Human Rights and Behavioral intervention training.

Responsibilities

• Dispense take-home medications in accordance with laws.
• Identify patients with physician orders for take-home doses.
• Perform inventory reconciliations after each shift.
• Assist Directors with narcotics inventories per DEA/VA requirements.
• Ensure compliance with licensure and privacy standards.

Part Time Schedule: Tuesday and Thursday 5am-1pm; Saturday 7am-4pm

Position Description

The Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring accurate dispensing of medication to be consumed outside of the clinic. The Pharmacist will adhere to the vision and mission of the Company.

Duties and Responsibilities

• With the assistance of the Director of Medical Services, identifies all patients with Physician Orders for take home medication.
• Using approved take home containers and the Methasoft Dispensing System; pours take home doses for each patient in accordance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations governing the dispensing of methadone.
• Performs inventory reconciliations at the conclusion of each shift.
• Assists Director of Nursing in completing regular full narcotic physical inventories as required by DEA and Virginia Department of Pharmacy.
• Reviews Medication Room procedures and reports any regulatory concerns to leadership.
• Be proficient with State Licensure Standards, CARF Standards, 42 CFR and HIPAA standards and Company policies.
