Job summary

Dayton Children's Hospital is seeking a licensed pharmacist to oversee daily operations in the Retail Pharmacy, ensuring safe and accurate medication dispensing. You will review orders, perform final checks, and monitor therapies while promoting patient safety and staff education.

The role includes supervising technicians and taking on manager duties when needed. Ohio licensure is required, and a PharmD or Bachelors in Pharmacy is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD required.
• RPh Ohio - Registered pharmacist - Ohio State Board of Pharmacy required.
• Experience supervising pharmacy technicians and dispensing medications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the department to ensure safe medication processing and delivery.
• Review and verify medication orders and perform final dispensing checks.
• Monitor patient drug therapies and provide drug information to staff and patients.
• Promote medication safety and compliance with all regulations.
• Support and supervise pharmacy technicians and, in absence of the manager, assume essential duties of the pharmacy manager.

Job Details:

The pharmacist oversees the daily operations within the department to ensure the safe and appropriate processing and delivery of medications to the patients. The pharmacist is responsible for reviewing and verifying medication orders and completing the final check for medication dispensing. The pharmacist monitors patient drug therapies, provides drug information, and promotes medication safety. The pharmacist supports and supervises the pharmacy technicians. In the absence of the pharmacy manager, the pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager.This role complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration, along with other regulatory agencies.

Hours:

8 hour days, 1st/ 2nd shift availability

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD Degree is required
