Job summary

Dayton Children’s Hospital is seeking a pharmacist to oversee daily operations in the Retail Pharmacy, ensuring safe and accurate dispensing of medications. You will review orders, verify dispenses, monitor therapies and provide drug information to patients and staff.

Role includes supervising technicians and, when needed, assuming duties of the pharmacy manager. Must comply with state and federal regulations and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD is required.
• Rph Ohio – Registered pharmacist – Ohio State Board of Pharmacy is required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of Retail Pharmacy to ensure safe dispensing.
• Review and verify medication orders and perform final dispensing check.
• Monitor patient drug therapies and provide drug information.
• Promote medication safety and supervise pharmacy technicians.
• In the absence of the pharmacy manager, may assume essential manager duties.

Job Details:

The pharmacist oversees the daily operations within the department to ensure the safe and appropriate processing and delivery of medications to the patients. The pharmacist is responsible for reviewing and verifying medication orders and completing the final check for medication dispensing. The pharmacist monitors patient drug therapies, provides drug information, and promotes medication safety. The pharmacist supports and supervises the pharmacy technicians. In the absence of the pharmacy manager, the pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the pharmacy manager.
This role complies with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration, along with other regulatory agencies.
