Job summary

University of Vermont Health is seeking a Pharmacist Night Lead - EM/CC to provide specialized pharmacy services during overnight hours. This full-time onsite role operates 7 days on/7 days off and collaborates with EM/CC teams to support emergencies and critical care.

The ideal candidate holds a Doctor of Pharmacy or PharmD with Vermont licensure, completes PGY1/PGY2 in EM/CC or equivalent experience, and brings extensive clinical expertise in pharmacotherapy and patient counseling.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science from an ACPE-accredited school is required.
• ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and ASHP-accredited PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care or equivalent experience preferred.
• Licensed pharmacist in Vermont is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive pharmacy services for adult and pediatric patients.
• Clinical order verification, monitoring and evaluation of pharmacotherapeutic regimens.
• Respond to drug information questions and counsel patients.

Job description

Up to $5000 Allied Health Bonus available for qualified candidates. Paid out in 3 installments over 2 yrs.

Special benefits of the Night Lead role:

• Higher pay grade and base salary above regular/rotating-shift Pharmacist position.
• Night shift hourly differential applied on top of base salary to any night hours, after 11pm until end of shift: weekday night +$6/hour, weekend night +$9.50/hour.
• Option to work up to 8 additional hours per two-week pay period.
• Onsite parking for night shifts.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Pharmacist Night Lead - EM/CC is a full time onsite night-shift position, 7 days on/ 7 days off, or equivalent, who provides focused care in the areas of emergency medicine (EM) and critical care (CC). The Night Lead - EM/CC pharmacist will also flex and generalize care to all areas of the hospital as needed to work collaboratively with our Night Lead clinical staff pharmacist as part of a two-pharmacist team during the overnight hours. The Night Lead - EM/CC will also collaborate with our day/evening shift EM and CC Pharmacist Clinicians and our Pharmacy Residents. This position will be responsible for the provision of comprehensive pharmacy services for adult and pediatric patients. Duties will include: clinical order verification, monitoring and evaluation of pharmacotherapeutic regimens, response to drug information questions, patient counseling, pharmacy student/resident education, coordination of operational functions with pharmacy technicians and stroke alert and trauma/code response.

EDUCATION

Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy required. ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency and ASHP accredited PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care or equivalent experience preferred. Licensed pharmacist in the state of Vermont.

EXPERIENCE

Completion of PGY2 Pharmacy Residency in Emergency Medicine or Critical Care, OR completion of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency plus 2 years of equivalent experience, OR 5+ years of equivalent experience preferred
