Job Summary:

The Regional Manager of Pharmacy is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective delivery of quality pharmacy services within assigned departments. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and evaluating pharmacy functions, activities, and costs. The manager also prepares and dispenses medications, assesses patients' clinical status, provides drug information to the medical team, and educates patients to optimize drug therapy outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain management controls to ensure quality service delivery in pharmacy departments.
  • Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate pharmacy functions and activities.
  • Manage departmental costs and resources effectively.
  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately.
  • Assess clinical status of patients to support medication therapy decisions.
  • Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
  • Lead and motivate pharmacy staff to achieve departmental goals.
  • Resolve conflicts and build consensus within the team.
  • Develop and implement solutions to complex problems.
  • Delegate tasks and manage cross-functional and multidisciplinary projects.
Required Skills & Certifications:
  • Current unencumbered Oregon Pharmacist Licensure.
  • One of the following: completion of ASHP-accredited PGY2 Health System Pharmacy Administration & Leadership Residency; or ASHP-accredited residency in pharmacy practice plus one year pharmacist experience; or two years pharmacist experience; or one year leadership experience plus one year pharmacist experience.
  • Healthcare Provider Level BLS and ACLS certification within 90 days of hire (for PCH Pharmacy).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and team-building abilities.
  • Critical thinking and conflict resolution skills.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment/post-offer drug screen.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
  • Leadership experience in pharmacy management roles.
  • Experience in interim pharmacy supervisory or higher roles.
Special Considerations:
  • Must pass a pre-employment/post-offer drug screen.
  • Compliance with BLS and ACLS certification requirements within specified timeframe.
  • Role involves leadership and management responsibilities in a healthcare pharmacy environment.
Scheduling:
  • Work schedule and shifts are determined by departmental needs and management responsibilities.
  • May require flexibility to manage pharmacy operations effectively.
