Job summary

CVS Health Corporation is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to support the Pharmacy Manager in leading the pharmacy team, deliver safe dispensing, counseling, and immunization services, and ensure compliance with state regulations. This full‑time role requires an active Pharmacist license, an active NPI, and eligibility to work in the United States.

You will help drive patient care and operate with a focus on safety, quality, and compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

• Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
• Assumes Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or the primary pharmacist-on-duty.
• Overseeing the pharmacy as their proxy during bench shifts and providing feedback about team performance to the Pharmacy Manager.
• Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails at every workstation.
• Contributing to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and coaching the pharmacy team to do the same.
• Proactively offering and delivering immunizations and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
• Managing pharmacy inventory with a focus on protecting cold chain products and following best practices.
• Partnering with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations; escalating as needed.
• Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs; assisting with writing the pharmacy schedule as directed.
• Maintaining clinical and technical skills through trainings and CMEs and expanding knowledge to support patients.
• Supporting access to care and helping to improve patient outcomes through pharmacist-delivered clinical care where permissible.
