HCA HealthONE Rose in Denver, CO is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to assist in pharmaceutical preparation and inpatient services under a pharmacist supervisor. You will participate in compounding, dispensing, IV admixtures, and narcotics handling in a hospital setting, while gaining exposure to drug consultation for patients, physicians, nurses, and hospital staff.
Current enrollment in an accredited School of Pharmacy with good GPA is required; prior pharmacy experience is preferred.
Hourly Wage Estimate: $22.05 - $29.78 / hour

The Pharmacy Intern, under the supervision of a Pharmacist, performs technical functions related to pharmaceutical preparation and distribution, provides inpatient pharmaceutical services including compounding and dispensing pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical supplies, intravenous admixtures and narcotics. May assist in the provision of drug consultation to patients, physicians, nurses and hospital personnel. The Intern, under the direction of a licensed Preceptor, must complete all activities as required by Rose Medical Center Pharmacy Intern program and the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy.
Intern License - Colorado State Board of Pharmacy
Currently enrolled in, or recent graduate from, an accredited School of Pharmacy. Maintenance of a satisfactory grade point average is required. (Good Standing)
Prior pharmacy experience preferred.
Ability to perform work accurately with attention to detail. Able to develop skill in drug compounding, preparing IV admixtures and chemotherapy, and general dispensing functions. Possess communication, teamwork, customer service, computer, problem-solving, and organization skills. As further defined in position competencies. Ability to work with automated systems. Granted Pyxis/Meditech access and privileges.
All activities supervised by a pharmacist. Works independently, concise instruction given when needed, duties outlined onhiring, completed patient specific pharmaceutical work checked by pharmacist as required by State and Federal Law.
2-4 weeks. May be modified at the direction of the manager.
