Job summary

MercyOne Central Iowa is seeking a Pharmacist Intern to support pharmaceutical care at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. You will assist in preparation and delivery of medications and sterile products, and review patient charts under supervision.

The role requires enrollment in a pharmacy program, Iowa intern registration, and BLS clearance, with a per diem schedule and growth opportunities within MercyOne Health System.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current enrollment in a pharmacy school or program.
• Must be registered as a pharmacy intern with the State of Iowa at the time of hire or registered as a Technician in Training for up to 12 months until able to apply for Intern status after first day of pharmacy school or program.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support in the delivery of pharmaceutical care to Mercy Medical Center clients, including preparation and delivery of medications and sterile products, review of charts for specific information/audits, stocking and ordering of drugs and other products.
• Perform technical work and tasks allowable by Iowa law for a Pharmacy Intern under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Schedule: Per Diem (PRN)

Education

High school diploma or GED

Current enrollment in a pharmacy school or program

Registered as a pharmacy intern with the State of Iowa

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
