Job summary

Fred Meyer is seeking a Pharmacy Intern to support the in-store pharmacy team. You will assist the department manager in achieving sales and service goals, provide drug counseling, and help ensure accurate dispensing and data entry for prescriptions.

You will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, gain practical experience in a high-volume retail setting, and participate in immunization activities as part of patient care.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a US pharmacy program and state intern license required.
• Knowledge of prescription processing and customer service basics.
• Ability to discuss products and answer questions with customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
• Provide drug counseling to customers and discuss treatment options.
• Dispense medications accurately and input patient data into the system.
• Process third party insurance information and obtain approvals when needed.
• Stock, organize, and stock shelves; ensure cleanliness and safety of the department.
• Assist with immunizations under pharmacist supervision.
