Job summary

Central Valley Specialty Hospital in Modesto, CA seeks a Pharmacist Intern to support the pharmacist in medication preparation and patient care activities within an acute hospital environment.

The intern will assist with unit dose, IV admixture, and outpatient duties under licensed pharmacist supervision. Must hold a California Pharmacy Intern License and pursue pharmacy education to complete credentialing.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or post graduate of School of Pharmacy.
• Six months experience within an acute care hospital preferred.
• Current Pharmacy Intern License from the State of California.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of responsibilities of a pharmacist and limits of pharmacy intern activities.

Responsibilities

• An Intern Pharmacist performs the duties of a registered Pharmacist while working under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist in the fulfillment of his/her practical experience requirements.
• Must be able to perform the typical duties of a Pharmacist such as manufacturing, dispensing, maintaining control of drugs and pharmaceuticals supplies, and performing other related work as required.
• Ensures location compliance to all local, state, federal laws, and company policies and procedures.
• Understands and complies with Policy and Procedure Standards.
