Job summary

Phaxis in Knoxville, TN seeks a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to provide operational and clinical leadership for a 503A compounding pharmacy. You will oversee compliance, quality, staff management, and daily operations to ensure safe patient care and regulatory excellence.

The PIC reports to the Director of Pharmacy and leads on-site pharmacists, technicians, and support staff, maintaining a culture of safety and efficiency in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacist license in good standing
• 2+ years of pharmacy experience; 3-5+ years preferred
• Previous pharmacy leadership, supervisory, or management experience strongly preferred
• Compounding pharmacy experience preferred
• Strong understanding of applicable pharmacy regulations, USP standards, and quality/compliance requirements

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy, including workflow, staffing, scheduling, productivity, and overall site performance
• Serve as the primary on-site pharmacy leader and resource for pharmacists, technicians, and support staff
• Ensure prescriptions, medication orders, compounding, dispensing, and verification processes are completed accurately, safely, and efficiently
• Monitor workflow and staffing levels and adjust as needed to maintain service levels and patient safety
• Identify operational challenges and implement solutions to improve efficiency and quality
• Collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy on operational improvements and strategic initiatives
