Qualifications

  • Licensed pharmacist in the state of Washington, active and in good standing.
  • 40 hours per week availability; on-call requirement.
  • Preferred: 1 year management experience as Pharmacist in Charge or Pharmacy Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the dispensing pharmacy.
  • Monitor regulatory and compliance developments (Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA).
  • Educate staff on regulatory changes, recalls, drug information, samples, and investigational studies.
  • Implement quality assurance programs for pharmacy services and improve patient care.
  • Implement policies and procedures for procurement, storage, security, and disposition of drugs and devices.
  • Maintain records of pharmacist licensure and technician registrations.
  • Respond to Board of Pharmacy warning notices and ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations and accreditation rules.
  • Serve as a primary information source for internal and external questions.
  • Lead the team and drive continuous improvement, quality, and service.
  • Report directly to the General Manager.

Job description

  • Educate staff on regulatory changes, compliance, FDA drug recalls, drug information, sample medications, and investigational studies
  • Implement quality assurance programs for pharmacy services and improve patient care
  • Implement policies and procedures for procurement, storage, security, and disposition of drugs and devices
  • Maintain records of pharmacist licensure and technician registrations
  • Respond to Board of Pharmacy warning notices
  • Maintain prescription and patient healthcare information integrity and confidentiality
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations and accreditation rules
  • Serve as a primary source of information for internal and external customer questions
  • Perform narcotic room compliance duties, including controlled-substance self-surveys, regulatory inquiry resolution, prescription documentation, and drug recall surveillance
  • Lead the team and foster continuous improvement, quality, and service
  • Report directly to the General Manager
