St. Matthews Pharmacy, located in New Orleans, LA, seeks an experienced Pharmacist In Charge (PIC) for a full-time retail role with no late-night shifts. The PIC oversees operations, regulatory compliance, and staff supervision to ensure safe dispensing and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license (U.S.) with the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Multi-state licensure preferred.
• CSP or BPS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of all prescription dispensing activities to ensure accuracy, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Verify prescription validity, clinical appropriateness, dosing, route, strength, and directions prior to dispensing.
• Perform drug utilization reviews (DURs) and clinical interventions per policy and regulation.
• Provide patient counseling and medication education compliant with laws and standards.
• Administer immunizations and injectable therapies as permitted by state law and policy.
• Identify, document, investigate, and report medication errors and near-miss incidents.
