Job summary

The successful candidate will have a PharmD, Texas license, and 3–5 years of management experience in a retail setting. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Texas Pharmacist license (PharmD).
• Minimum 3–5 years of retail pharmacy management experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review and execute provider prescriptions for appropriateness and legality.
• Organize the pharmacy to improve product identification and efficiency.
• Control medication inventory, stocking, labeling, and monitoring condition to prevent expiration.
• Interact with customers to interpret needs and provide information or advice.
• Prepare medicines with correct dosages and materials for each patient.
• Maintain patient profiles and dispensing history.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and fraud waste/abuse credentialing.
• Comply with legal rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Ensure pharmacy and staff comply with federal, state and local laws.
• Direct daily work of pharmacy technicians and provide performance feedback to management.
• Manage technician schedules and accommodate leave requests.
• Perform other duties as necessary.

Work Hours-Monday-Friday - normally between 8:00AM-5:00PM

Primary Role: Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians and managing the overall day-to day pharmacy responsibilities. the The job entails a high level of responsibility and knowledge.

Essential Job Functions:

• Review and execute provider’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality
• Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
• Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking and labeling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
• Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
• Prepare medicine when appropriate using correct dosages and material for each individual patient
• Maintain patient profiles and history of all activities regarding medications dispensed
• Keep abreast and stay current with HIPAA and Frauds Waste and Abuse credentialing
• Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures
• Responsible for ensuring that the Pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State and Local laws regulated
• Ensures that the Pharmacy and its employees are aware and compliant with local facilities policies
• Responsible for directing the daily work of Pharmacy Technicians, this includes providing input into performance evaluations and advising Senior Management of any behavioral and/or performance issues.
• Responsible for managing the Pharmacy Technicians schedules. This includes advising Senior Management of any request for leave of absences or medical accommodations.
• Other duties as necessary

• Current License to practice (PharmD) in Texas

Experience:

• Previous leadership role helpful
• Must be able to utilize Patient Management System in the Pharmacy
• Min 3-5 years retail pharmacy manager experience

Physical Requirements:

• Standing for prolong periods of time
• Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
• Fine Motor Skills
