Pharmacist in Charge - Relocation Assistance Available!!

Monday‑Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Pharmacy closes for lunch 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM

Primary Role

Preparing and dispensing appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, leading a team of pharmacy technicians, and managing the overall day‑to‑day pharmacy responsibilities. The role involves high levels of responsibility and requires extensive knowledge.

Essential Job Functions

• Review and execute provider prescriptions, checking their appropriateness and legality.
• Organize the pharmacy efficiently to facilitate product identification.
• Maintain full control over medication inventory, stocking, labeling, and monitoring condition to prevent expiration or deterioration.
• Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice.
• Prepare medicines when appropriate, using correct dosages and materials for each patient.
• Maintain patient profiles and the history of all activities regarding dispensed medications.
• Stay abreast of and comply with HIPAA and Fraud, Waste, and Abuse regulations.
• Comply with all applicable legal rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Ensure the pharmacy and its employees are compliant with Federal, State, and Local laws.
• Ensure employees are aware of and compliant with local facility policies.
• Direct the daily work of pharmacy technicians, provide input into performance evaluations, and advise senior management of any behavioral or performance issues.
• Manage pharmacy technicians’ schedules, including advising senior management of leave requests or medical accommodations.

Required Education & Skills

• PharmD required.
• Current license to practice (PharmD) in Illinois.
• Excellent oral and written skills.

Experience

• Previous experience working within a retail pharmacy environment.
• Proficiency in using patient management systems in pharmacy.
• Minimum 3‑5 years of retail pharmacy manager experience.

Physical Requirements

• Standing for prolonged periods of time.
• Use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Fine motor skills.
