Summary of Job Duties: A Pharmacist III will supervise, direct, coordinate and provide first line technical functions for our front-line personnel including pharmacists, technicians, volunteers, and students. The person in this position is considered an operational supervisor of the pharmacy and handles the day-to-day operation of the pharmacy stockroom. Interacts with healthcare staff outside of pharmacy and pharmacy vendors to ensure good workflow and working relationships. Serves as the primary point of contact for acute care drug shortages and works closely with the Director of Pharmacy - Business Operations to optimize inventory, ensure contract compliance, and manage inpatient drug expense. Pharmacist III may work online based on department need to help with day-to-day dispensing functions, tasks and job duties to provide timely and efficient patient services. They will assist with maintaining, changing, and implementing new workflows, technology/automation, and process improvement projects. They provide leadership and assistance for developing appropriate training, education, and competencies for employees and rotation students. This position will promote staff engagement and great customer service. They will also represent the department by serving on committees and attending meetings, other duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy.
