Baltimore Medical System (BMS) seeks a Pharmacist for a temporary role to provide clinical pharmacy services and serve as a liaison among Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medical staff. The pharmacist supports therapeutic initiatives, 340B audits, and patient safety programs across centers.
Ideal candidates hold a BS in Pharmacy (PharmD preferred), with 18+ months of retail experience and an active Maryland RPh license. Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential in this community setting.
The Pharmacist receives supervision and direction from the VP of Pharmacy Services. The Pharmacist provides clinical services, acts as a resource to physicians and nurses, and serves as a resource for clinical practice issues. The pharmacist produces clinical recommendations and programs for the pharmacy and assists in the implementation of therapeutic initiatives. The employee acts as a liaison between Pharmacy, Nursing, and Medical staff. The employee will be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide services appropriate to the age of the patients served. Also responsible for aiding and assisting with patient care decisions and therapies, reviewing current clinical programs, staff and patient education, patient safety programs, pharmacoeconomic programs, and overall process improvement. The employee will be able to access patient-specific information and interpret this information to make clinical judgments. The employee will coordinate all clinical pharmacy functions of the department and will promote the role of staff pharmacists in drug quality surveillance programs and disseminating safety, labeling, and quality information on marketed drug products. The employee will also perform all other duties as assigned. Frequent communication outside of the work group is required to resolve disagreements, reach agreements, and clarify issues/processes. Responsibility exists to ensure that internal customers are satisfied with service. Communicates with external contacts frequently and is responsible for ensuring ongoing service.
