Job summary

CareOne is seeking a Pharmacist Floater for our long-term care pharmacy operations. The role involves directing support staff, dispensing medications, performing drug utilization reviews, and ensuring accurate records across facilities.

You must be a state-registered pharmacist with 1+ year in long-term care or retail settings, excellent communication, and strong interpersonal skills. We offer comprehensive benefits for part-time and full-time employees and opportunities to grow.

Qualifications

• Must be a State Registered Pharmacist.
• 1+ years of Pharmacist experience in a long term care or retail pharmacy environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist and direct support staff in the production and dispensing of medication orders to facilities and residents.
• Practice appropriate drug utilization review and follow up.
• Coding (Data entry) and checking orders.
• Verification of orders.
• Answer calls and provide customer service to facilities.
• Accept and dispense prescription medications.
• Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions.
• Compound medications for external or internal use.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns.
• Supervise pharmacy staff including technicians and clerks.
• Maintain inventory of pharmaceutical and medical supplies.
• Ensure security of the prescription area and report thefts/diversions of controlled substances to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate records of all prescription medication received and dispensed.

Now Hiring - Pharmacist - (Floater)

Hours

7:00 am or 8 am - 3:30pm or 4:30pm

The Pharmacist will be responsible for, but not limited to:

1. Assist and direct support staff in the production and dispensing of medication orders to facilities and residents
2. Practice appropriate drug utilization review and follow up
3. Coding (Data entry) and checking orders
4. Verification of orders
5. Answer calls and heavy customer service to facilities
6. Accept and dispense prescription medications
7. Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
8. Compound medications for external or internal use
9. Monitor patient medication compliance and over-usage patterns
10. Supervise pharmacy staff members including pharmacy technicians, pharmacy clerks, etc.
11. Maintain appropriate inventory on pharmaceutical and medical supplies
12. Security of the prescription area and its contents are maintained at all times and the reporting of any thefts and/or diversions of controlled substances to the Supervisor
13. No misbranded, deteriorated, adulterated, improperly stores or outdated drugs or any drugs marked sample or with any like designation or meaning are dispensed or present in the active stock in the pharmacy.
14. Accurate records of all prescription medication received and dispensed are maintained

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD

Professional Experience
