Job summary

Mixlab, the first modern pet pharmacy, seeks a Compounding Pharmacist in New York. This part-time role offers 16 hours weekly with an evening shift, focusing on non-sterile veterinary compounding and ensuring accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will counsel clients, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support veterinary partners and the Care team in a fast-paced startup environment. NY pharmacist license and compounding experience required.

Responsibilities

• Compound non-sterile preparations (capsules, tablets, liquids, topicals).
• Fill, label, and package prescriptions for full-service compounding.
• Counsel clients on medications, usage, and instructions.
• Maintain records and monitor inventory per USP 795 and regulations.
• Collaborate with development team on product features and veterinary outreach.
• Perform Care Pharmacist duties as needed.

Job description

As a Compounding Pharmacist at Mixlab, you’ll play a hands‑on role in creating customized, high-quality medications for our veterinary patients from start to finish. You’ll compound a variety of non‑sterile preparations, including capsules, tablets, oral liquids, and topical medications, while ensuring exceptional accuracy, quality, and compliance with USP <795> and New York pharmacy regulations. You’ll also counsel clients, collaborate across teams, and support our veterinary partners and Care team as needed, making this an ideal opportunity for a pharmacist who is passionate about compounding and thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.

** This is a PART TIME position offering 16 hours weekly. This will also be an EVENING SHIFT **

What you'll do

• Compound non‑sterile pharmaceutical preparations, including but not limited to the compounding of capsules, tablets, oral liquids and topical medications.
• Compound medications, fill and label prescriptions, and package medications - in other words, full‑service compounding from chemicals to packaging.
• Counsel clients on different medications, needs, usages, and instructions.
• Keep accurate records and monitor inventory levels in accordance with USP 795, State Board of Pharmacy regulations and company policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the development team to provide guidance on product features, participating in sales activities such as calling or visiting veterinary clinics.
• Perform Care Pharmacist duties on an as needed basis

About you

• You are a licensed pharmacist in NY, in good standing with all State Boards of Pharmacy
• You have formal training in non‑sterile compounding or equivalent experience
• You have 2+ years of experience in non‑sterile compounding, with preference given to veterinary compounding experience
• Your attention to detail is impeccable, and you have incredibly high standards for accuracy and quality
• You are collaborative and have a desire to work in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced, startup environment
