Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited in Canada is seeking a licensed Pharmacist to receive, prepare and dispense medications accurately and timely while maintaining adequate inventory and counseling patients with proper documentation.

You will report to the Pharmacy Manager and participate in staff training, cost control, and patient education, supporting a growing health and wellness program across our Pharmacy, Dietitian, Medical and Optical services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science, Pharmacy and a Class A Pharmacists license required.
• Superior customer relations skills and a strong sense of professionalism.
• Excellent leadership and performance management skills required.
• Proven ability to build the business using community based marketing strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem solving skills including the experience formulating and executing action plans.
• Strong personal computing skills; knowledge of Healthwatch and/or KROLL Pharmacy Computer system is a definite asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, dispense and control medications accurately and timely to patients.
• Ensure medication and over the counter supplements inventory levels meet patients’ needs.
• Counsel patients regarding new and existing medications in a friendly, proactive manner.
• Create awareness and educate customers through public relations (public health days, clinics, etc.).
• Provide timely and positive resolution to patients’ needs and doctors’ requests/issues.
• Review and control costs at all levels within Loblaw Pharmacy (dispensary).
• Provide ongoing training for all new and existing Pharmacy colleagues (technicians, interns, students, IPG’s).
