SpecialtyRx is hiring a Pharmacist for our NEW Roanoke, VA location. Relocation candidates are welcome to apply and may receive a $10,000 sign-on bonus with $5,000 after 1 year and $5,000 after 2 years of continuous employment.

As a Long-Term Care pharmacy provider, SpecialtyRx delivers personalized care to facilities and assisted living communities. You will evaluate orders, ensure accurate dispensing, and collaborate with physicians and staff to optimize therapy.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in Virginia, with active license.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for drug selection, dosage, interactions, and administration.
• Ensure medications are prepared, dispensed, and labeled accurately.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when appropriate.
• Maintain patient records and clinical information.
• Investigate medication-related questions and concerns.
• Communicate with nursing staff, physicians, and healthcare professionals about therapy.
• Supervise medication preparation and dispensing.
• Maintain controlled substance records per law and regulations.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed.

Our Company:

SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy providing pharmaceutical services to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. We take pride in delivering personalized care and high-quality pharmacy services and are excited to expand to our NEW location in Roanoke, Virginia.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug selection, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
• Ensure medications are accurately prepared, dispensed, and labeled.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when appropriate.
• Maintain customer records, including medical history, clinical information, and laboratory data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related questions and concerns.
• Communicate with facility nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy.
• Supervise the preparation and dispensing of medications.
• Maintain controlled substance records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proper storage and security of medications.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist in the State of Virginia.
• Long-Term Care experience preferred.
• Previous experience in hospital, retail, or other pharmacy practice settings preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems.
• Experience with Framework/ECM software is a plus.

Schedule:

• 7-on/7-off rotation.
• 10-hour shifts.
• Monday through Sunday, every other week.
