Job summary

SpecialtyRx, Inc. in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Pharmacist for our NEW location with relocation welcome. The role focuses on long-term care pharmacy services and requires Virginia licensure.

You will evaluate orders, dispense, consult with physicians, maintain records, and participate in on-call duties. We offer a 7-on/7-off schedule, 10-hour shifts, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in Virginia; LTC experience preferred.
• Hospital, retail, or other pharmacy practice settings preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug selection, dosage, potential interactions, and proper administration.
• Ensure medications are accurately prepared, dispensed, and labeled.
• Recommend therapy changes to physicians and facility staff when appropriate.
• Maintain customer records, including medical history, clinical information, and laboratory data.
• Investigate and resolve medication-related questions and concerns.
• Communicate with facility nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy.
• Supervise the preparation and dispensing of medications.
• Maintain controlled substance records in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure proper storage and security of medications.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as needed.

SpecialtyRx is a Long-Term Care pharmacy providing pharmaceutical services to long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. We take pride in delivering personalized care and high-quality pharmacy services and are excited to expand to our NEW location in Roanoke, Virginia.

Schedule

7-on/7-off rotation

• 10-hour shifts
• Monday through Sunday, every other week
