Job summary

GW Hospital in Washington, DC, is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care, manage drug distribution, and counsel patients. You will monitor therapies, educate patients, and support the pharmacy team to ensure optimal outcomes.

This role requires Bachelor’s in Pharmacy (Pharm.D. preferred), strong communication, and Pyxis experience. Travel may be required to engage with corporate and regulatory teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy required.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Staff Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching.
  • Staff Pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patients' drug therapies and provide drug information.
  • Staff pharmacist supervises and directs supportive staff. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, may assume responsibilities of Director.

Position Summary

Staff Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care through integrated drug distribution, patient counseling and teaching. Staff Pharmacists fill orders for medications, monitor patients drug therapies and provide drug information. Staff pharmacist supervises and directs supportive staff. In the absence of the Director of Pharmacy, a staff pharmacist may be required to assume the essential responsibilities and perform the duties of the Director of Pharmacy

Qualifications

Bachelor s Degree in Pharmacy

Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.) preferred

Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities

Knowledgeable of and complies with laws, rules and regulations that govern the practice of pharmacy.

Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis Reports (i.e., optimization, load/unload, nursing narcotic access, etc.)

Some travel, to follow-up with Corporate, Financial, GPO, Compliance and Pyxis issues.
