Job description

Community Pharmacies is the largest independently owned pharmacy in Maine, with nine locations that are owned and managed exclusively by pharmacists. We believe excellent patient care and staying current with modern pharmacy practice go hand in hand—and that pharmacists should be able to enjoy their careers while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

We are seeking a motivated, personable, and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our team at our Waldoboro location.

Why Community Pharmacies?

A better work-life balance.
Our pharmacists enjoy a predictable schedule, shorter Saturday hours, and no Sunday shifts. We also value flexibility and are willing to work with the right candidate to develop a schedule that fits both the needs of the pharmacy and the pharmacist. Whether you value consistency, flexibility, or a little of both, we are interested in talking with you.

An experienced team.
You won’t be expected to do it all yourself. Our Waldoboro pharmacy has adequate, experienced technician help and supportive front-end staff who understand the workflow and work together as a team. This allows our pharmacists to focus on what matters most—taking care of patients and practicing pharmacy.

Experienced leadership.
The Waldoboro pharmacy is managed by its founding Pharmacist-in-Charge, who has been with the location since 2013. You’ll have the stability of an experienced leader who knows the patients, prescribers, community, and pharmacy team.

The advantages of a small chain.
Community Pharmacies gives you the best of both worlds: the autonomy and personal connection of an independent pharmacy, combined with the support of a nine-location organization. Our locations have the ability to make decisions and innovate locally while having access to support and resources from our other pharmacies and leadership team.

Patient care over productivity metrics.
We believe pharmacy is about people, not just numbers. Our emphasis is on providing excellent patient care and building relationships with the patients and healthcare providers in our communities, rather than focusing solely on corporate productivity measures.

Pharmacy Hours
  • Monday–Friday: 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM
  • Sunday: Closed

This is a full-time position.

What You’ll Do
  • Accurately process and verify prescriptions while supervising the pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal laws, professional standards, and company policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and thorough patient consultation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with patients, local prescribers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with an experienced pharmacy team to ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered pharmacy operations.
  • Stay current with evolving pharmacy practices, clinical services, and modern pharmacy trends.
  • Contribute ideas and innovations that improve patient care and the pharmacy’s day-to-day operations.
  • Help create a positive, welcoming environment for both patients and coworkers.
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who is energetic, friendly, dependable, and driven, with the ability to multitask and remain calm and organized in a busy pharmacy environment. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys developing relationships with patients and prescribers, values teamwork, and wants the opportunity to have a meaningful role in their pharmacy.

What We Offer
  • Competitive salary: $60–$72 per hour
  • Full-time employment
  • Excellent benefits including health insurance, paid time off, 401K match, short and long-term disability, PFML, and others!
  • Strong work-life balance
  • Flexible scheduling opportunities
  • Short Saturday hours
  • Sundays off
  • Experienced and adequate technician and support staff
  • Support from an experienced pharmacy leadership team
  • Autonomy and opportunity for innovation at your location
  • Strong working relationships with local prescribers
  • A pharmacist-owned and pharmacist-managed organization
  • Multi-site support while maintaining the feel and autonomy of a local independent pharmacy
  • A culture focused on taking care of patients—not simply meeting productivity measures

Join a pharmacy where you can practice pharmacy, know your patients, work with an experienced team, and still have a life outside of work. Come see the advantage of working for Community Pharmacies.
