Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a licensed Pharmacist with oncology focus to oversee IV infusion operations and retail pharmacy services. You will supervise technicians, manage inventory, and provide clinical resources and education to patients and staff.

The role involves reviewing physician orders, advising on drug therapy, and coordinating investigational medication with a cancer-center team. Oncology experience preferred; Monday–Friday schedule in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharmacy Doctorate required.
• Appropriate state pharmacy licensure required.
• Oncology and supportive therapies and/or drug research preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate IV infusion and retail pharmacy services.

• Advise on drug selection, adverse reaction monitoring and reporting, and therapeutic monitoring.
• Coordinate investigational medication and storage programs.
• Maintain adequate medication inventory with cost-effective sourcing.
• Oversee pharmacy technician performance and assignments.
• Collaborate to support cancer-center workflow.

Job description

• Operate IV infusion and retail pharmacy services
• Provide clinical resources to patients and staff
• Manage pharmacy inventory
• Assure pharmacy product quality and compliance with legal pharmacy standards
• Supervise technicians preparing sterile IV administrations
• Supervise retail pharmacy dispensing and daily pharmacy maintenance
• Provide drug information, billing assistance, patient education, and clinical pharmacy services
• Provide pharmacist services to IV infusion clinics and licensed retail pharmacies
• Check physician orders for appropriateness and completeness based on protocols, regimens, and patient history
• Advise on drug selection, administration, adverse reaction monitoring and reporting, drug stability, drug information, and therapeutic monitoring
• Supervise medication and solution preparation and outpatient prescription dispensing
• Coordinate investigational medication, remote site medication, prescription record-keeping, and storage programs
• Maintain adequate medication inventory using a just-in-time system and cost-effective sourcing
• Oversee pharmacy technician performance and task assignments
• Collaborate as a team member to facilitate optimal cancer-center workflow

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Pharmacy Doctorate
• Appropriate state pharmacy licensure
• Oncology and supportive therapies and/or drug research is desired
• Ability to work Monday to Friday, between 8:00am and 5:00pm
• Ability to work primarily at LHCP and secondarily at the Kenmoor site as needed
