Qualifications

  • Flexible and willing to adjust schedules when necessary to help ensure continuous pharmacy operations and meet patient care commitments.

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify, and approve prescription orders for accuracy and clinical appropriateness.
  • Evaluate drug therapies for allergies, interactions, contraindications, refill compliance, and patient safety concerns.
  • Ensure all prescriptions are processed, packaged, and dispensed according to facility requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Provide pharmacist oversight for medication preparation, order entry, packaging, and dispensing activities.
  • Support technicians and serve as a clinical resource for pharmacy staff.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers, nurses, and facility personnel regarding medication-related questions and order clarifications.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and Board of Pharmacy regulations.
  • Support inventory management, product procurement, and shortage resolution activities.
  • Investigate and document medication errors, discrepancies, and quality concerns.
  • Assist with prescription transfers and other pharmacy operations as needed.
  • Help maintain a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
