A well-known healthcare organization is seeking a Pharmacist to join their team.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: 7:30am-4pm
• Schedule: Full time - 5 shifts per week
• Setting: Acute Care

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Filling prescriptions and patient orders, resolving discrepancies in patient therapy, and following up on problems.
• Utilizing clinical data to evaluate physician orders for appropriate therapy.
• Providing and documenting drug information and patient counseling.
• Documenting interventions, adverse drug reactions (ADRs), and medication errors.
• Managing personnel including technicians, aides, and clerical staff.
• Assisting with monthly inspections of patient care units and the pharmacy.
• Maintaining adequate medication supplies in the work area.
• Participating in pharmacy staff in-services and meetings related to healthcare programs.
• Operating and troubleshooting automated dispensing systems as needed.
• Advising prescribers on alternatives for non-formulary drugs.
• Using outpatient and inpatient computerized systems to access and enter patient care information.
• Analyzing statistics and clinical data.
• Participating in quality management and utilization review programs.
• Potentially coordinating small groups to complete projects or assignments.
• Assisting in the development and review of policies and procedures.
• Supporting the development and implementation of pharmacy staff training curricula.
• Supervising pharmacy units or functions in the absence of the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active New York State Pharmacist license required
• At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacist in a hospital or retail setting
• Experience with pharmacy dispensing systems
• Experience with sterile processing
