Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is seeking a Pharmacist to oversee the preparation and dispensing of medications, verify medication orders, and monitor patient therapy.

The role requires strong collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals to identify and prevent medication-related problems. The position emphasizes ensuring timely medication administration while adhering to Mercy policies, procedures, and standards.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree from ACPE-accredited school (BS or PharmD) is required.
• Must hold a current pharmacist license in the applicable state.
• Missouri Medication Therapy Service Certificate within 90 days of start date is preferred.
• Retail pharmacy experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversees preparation and dispensing of medication.
• Performs medication order verification.
• Monitors patient medication therapy and provides information to patients and staff.
• Identifies, resolves, and prevents medication-related problems via physician intervention.
• Supervises and directs pharmacy support personnel to ensure timely medication administration.
• Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
