Job summary

Qualifications

  • Pharmacist licensure (Indiana/Kentucky) or eligibility.
  • Pharmacist degree from an accredited school (BSPharm/PharmD).
  • Ability to obtain license within 45 days of employment.
  • Strong clinical judgment and evidence-based care.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services for assigned patient areas.
  • Review and verify medication orders for safety and appropriateness.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate on patient care decisions.
  • Complete pharmacotherapy consults and provide medication recommendations.
  • Educate patients and caregivers on medications and treatment plans.
  • Respond to code blue events and clinical emergencies.
  • Perform medication chart reviews to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Support operations through order verification and IV room verification.
  • Provide oversight to pharmacy technicians during daily operations.
  • Contribute to medication safety, quality improvement, and process enhancements.
  • Participate in department and hospital committees.
  • Mentor and precept students to develop future pharmacists.

Job description

What You\'ll Do
  • Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services for assigned patient care areas
  • Review and verify medication orders to ensure safe, accurate, and appropriate therapy
  • Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and collaborate with healthcare teams on patient care decisions
  • Complete pharmacotherapy consults and provide medication-related recommendations
  • Educate patients and caregivers on medication therapies and treatment plans
  • Respond to code blue events and other clinical emergencies as needed
  • Perform medication chart reviews to identify opportunities for optimization and improved outcomes
  • Support pharmacy operations through order verification, drug distribution, and IV room product verification
  • Provide oversight and guidance to pharmacy technicians during daily departmental operations
  • Contribute to medication safety, quality improvement, and process enhancement initiatives
  • Participate in department and hospital committees
  • Support the development of future pharmacy professionals through student precepting and mentoring opportunities
What We\'re Looking For
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Pharmacist in Indiana and Kentucky
  • Ability to obtain required licensure within 45 days of employment
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based patient care
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Commitment to patient safety, service excellence, and continuous learning
Preferred:
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience
  • Advanced certifications such as BCPS, BCOP, or other relevant specialty credentials
  • Interest in clinical practice advancement, quality improvement, and professional development
