Job summary

Highpoint Health - Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist for the full-time night shift to support our Sumner community. You will fill orders, review profiles, and ensure safe, appropriate drug therapy while collaborating with hospital staff.

The role emphasizes patient care, medication safety, and ongoing education of staff. Strong state licensure and hospital pharmacy experience are preferred, with commitment to compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist degree from an accredited school.
• Current state license in good standing.
• Knowledge of hospital pharmacy practices.

Responsibilities

• Fills orders with correct medication and checks staff accuracy.
• Prioritizes work to prepare STAT, Now and Waiting in order of importance.
• Reviews patient profiles to ensure appropriate and safe drug therapy.
• Participates in drug information dissemination through in-service education.
• Assists pharmacists and technicians in routine duties and provides guidance.
• Maintains temperature and environmental monitoring logs.

How you'll contribute

• Fillsorders with correct medication.Checks support staff accuracy prior to medication release.
• Prioritizes work to prepare STAT,Nowand Waiting in order of importance.
• Reviews patientprofileto ensureappropriateand safe drug therapy.No therapeutic duplication.Prevents significant drug interaction.Prevents avoidable ADR secondary to allergies.Medication ordered isappropriate forpatient height, weight, age, renalfunctiondisease state,laboratoryand other data. Mustbe haveknowledge of patient population served.
• Participates in the maintenance and dissemination of drug information through in-service education of hospital personnel, consultation with patients, hospital andMedicalstaff.
• Activelyassistsother Pharmacists and Technicians in the discharge of routinedutiesas necessary.Directsactivities ofand provides professional and technical guidance to Pharmacy personnel.
• Prepares unit of use dosage when possible.
• Is competent in the range of treatment needed by the following patients asappropriate tothe ages served by the hospital:Pediatric,Adult and Geriatric.
• Capable of entering a minimum of 40 orders perfour hourshift.
• Generates required reportsandPerforms Backup Procedures correctly.
• Assists Technicians in performing technical tasks.
• Ensurestemperature and environmental monitoring logs aremaintainedappropriately.
• Keeps current on new drugs.
