Job summary

Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center is seeking a Pharmacist for its Inpatient Pharmacy. The incumbent will support pharmaceutical care, pharmacotherapeutics, and patient education in a DoD facility compliant with DHA policies.

Qualified candidates hold a Doctor of Pharmacy, an active U.S. license, and at least one year of professional experience in pharmacy settings, with emphasis on medication safety and polypharmacy management.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree from ACPE-recognized program.
• Active license to practice pharmacy in a U.S. state/DC/territory.
• Minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience with pharmacotherapeutics and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the subject-matter expert on pharmaceuticals, polypharmacy and pharmacotherapeutics.
• Monitor dispensing of pharmaceuticals within and across facilities.
• Provide medication use education to patients and caregivers.

About the Position:

The incumbent performs duties as a Pharmacist at Alexander T. Augusta Military Medical Center Inpatient Pharmacy.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service Who May Apply: US Citizens.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement for Pharmacist:

Education:

A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.

Exemption:

You are exempt from the basic requirement above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status.

Licensure:

A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia.

Medical Requirement:

Must be able to distinguish basic colors.

Experience:

One year of professional pharmacy experience that includes

• Serving as the expert on pharmaceuticals, polypharmacy, and pharmacotherapeutics.
• Monitoring the dispensing of all pharmaceuticals within and allied facilities,
• Providing medication use education to patients and caregivers.
