Job summary

Catalent is seeking a Pharmaceutical Technician I for our Chelsea facility. This 2/2/3 shift runs from 6:00pm to 6:00am with 100% on-site work.

The Chelsea site specializes in spray dry dispersion and DPI capsule manufacture and packaging, featuring multiple commercial-scale lines and on-site spray dryers. The Pharmaceutical Technician I will execute routine GMP manufacturing operations under direct supervision across unit operations such as spray drying, blending, encapsulation, and packaging,

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Prior GMP experience is preferred (1 year).
  • Must have the ability to follow procedures and instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment per SOP under direct supervision; GMP manufacturing operations across unit operations (e.g., spray drying, blending, encapsulation, packaging).
  • Perform cleaning and sanitization (CIP, COP, manual).
  • Accurately complete batch documentation in real time.
  • Handle materials, staging, and transfers.
  • Perform basic inspections of equipment and processing areas; identify and escalate deviations, safety concerns, or equipment issues.
  • Maintain compliance with GMP and EHS requirements.

Pharmaceutical Technician I
Position Summary:
  • Work Schedule: 2/2/3 Work Schedule - 6:00pm to 6:00am
  • 100% on-site

The Chelsea facility is Catalent’s global Center of Excellence for spray dry dispersion and Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) capsule manufacture and packaging. The site features inhaled powder spray drying, as well as multiple commercial-scale lines for capsule filling and blister packaging. On-site spray dryers include best-in-class GEA Niro SD1, SD4 and SD7, the latter being the largest Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMP) unit of its kind for DPI in North America.

The Pharmaceutical Technician I Executes routine GMP manufacturing unit operations under direct supervision. Focus is on safe, compliant, and consistent execution of procedures across assigned manufacturing areas.

The Role:
  • Operate equipment per SOP under direct supervision; Executes GMP manufacturing operations across assigned unit operations (e.g., spray drying, blending, encapsulation, packaging)

The Candidate:
  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Prior experience is not required; 1 year of GMP experience is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Basic GMP understanding is preferred
  • Must have the ability to follow procedures and instructions
Pay:
  • The anticipated hourly rate for this position inMassachusettsis $24.00 - $26.00 . The final hourly rate offered to a successful candidate may vary, and will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, skillset, education, business needs, etc. Catalent is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
