Position: Territory Manager - Washington DC (CMH2 170959)

The Territory Manager will be responsible for account-based selling to healthcare providers (HCPs) who prescribe and influence treatment decisions within the Lilly portfolio. This includes engaging with various HCP specialties and hospital representatives. The role involves acting as a credible expert and resource, supporting all medicines and appropriate patient care, and driving results through Lilly’s sales and account management models. Building relationships with key customers to promote medication utilization and adoption is essential.

Responsibilities

Business Ownership

  • Promote the full portfolio of priority products across multiple HCP specialties.
  • Understand and evaluate the marketplace within the territory; develop tailored strategies to grow business outcomes.
  • Navigate the healthcare environment and payer landscape to impact key stakeholders and establish trusted partnerships.
  • Utilize business insight tools, data, and analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and obstacles.
  • Adopt new technologies, including AI tools, to enhance customer interactions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and model a growth mindset.

Selling Skills / Customer Experience

  • Employ Lilly’s selling, competency, and account management models to improve performance and results.
  • Demonstrate agility in understanding disease states, marketplace dynamics, clinical trials, and product labels.
  • Engage in patient-centered dialogues to promote the portfolio effectively.

Execution / Results

  • Promote across the portfolio and HCP specialties, utilizing virtual tools as appropriate.
  • Achieve sales and performance metrics while adhering to policies.
  • Manage customer relationships for product promotion, medical inquiries, and market access.
  • Own results and build trust with internal and external partners.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • State-specific professional certification or license, if required.
  • Valid US driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • Legal authorization to work in the US; Lilly does not sponsor visas for this role.

Preferred Skills

  • Business ownership, selling, and execution skills.
  • Experience with account-based selling and engaging staff in accounts.
  • Strong learning agility, motivation, teamwork, and emotional intelligence.
  • Bilingual abilities aligned with territory needs.
  • Residence within 30 miles of the territory boundary.

Compensation for this role ranges from $63,000 to $138,600, depending on education, experience, skills, and location. Full-time employees are eligible for bonuses, 401(k), health benefits, paid time off, and wellness programs. Lilly reserves the right to modify benefits and compensation policies as needed.
