Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in West Point, PA seeks a Senior Scientist to guide cross-functional drug discovery efforts in formulation and delivery.

You will lead automated experiments, tackle stability challenges, and develop novel workflows to improve efficiency and predictive capabilities across multiple modalities. The role emphasizes collaboration with Safety Assessment, Process Research, Analytical Chemistry, and Pharmacokinetics teams, with a strong emphasis on device and vaccine-related

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s with 3+ years, or a PhD with <1 year.
Excellent verbal and written communication; strong leadership and teamwork.
Experience in pre-clinical / clinical formulation development and automated workflows across modalities is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and conduct high-throughput automated experiments for pre-clinical characterization.
Create and deploy automation capabilities to drive improvements in efficiency, miniaturization, predictive sciences and machine learning.
Tackle stability challenges of drug candidates and enhance bio-performance with formulated strategies.
Identify suitable preclinical formulations for pharmacology and toxicology studies across various routes and modalities.
