Job summary

Actalent, Inc. in Columbus, OH is hiring multiple Quality Assurance/Quality Control Scientists I and II for a long-term contract-to-hire role in the pharmaceutical field. Candidates should have a Bachelors or Masters in a scientific discipline and 1–3+ years of lab experience with HPLC or GC.

Responsibilities include analytical testing of APIs and finished products, method validation support, and comprehensive documentation. Roles are available on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts with onsite work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific field, preference for Chemistry or Biochemistry.
• 1–3+ years of industry laboratory experience with HPLC or GC.

Responsibilities

• Perform qualitative and quantitative testing for APIs, starting materials, packaging components, and finished products.
• Prepare samples, including dilutions, to support accurate analytical testing.
• Peer-review analytical testing documentation, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues.
• Train according to laboratory curriculum and maintain competency in methods.
• Maintain laboratory data in notebooks and electronic/paper records.
• Re-validate chemistry methods and support method transfer and optimization.
• Operate and maintain HPLC, GC, and wet chemistry equipment; perform routine and advanced testing.
• Author detailed technical reports to support method improvements and investigations.
• Troubleshoot analytical issues and support validated analyses.
