Job summary

Körber Pharma is seeking a Print Estimating & Purchasing Manager for our Camden, NJ manufacturing plant. This in-person role oversees all estimating and purchasing to ensure accurate job costing, competitive pricing, and strategic procurement of materials.

You will liaise with Sales, Production, Customer Service, Suppliers, and Management to maximize profitability while maintaining quality. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in print estimating and buying for pharmaceutical secondary packaging,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in print estimating, purchasing, procurement, or related packaging manufacturing.
• Pharmaceutical secondary packaging experience including Folding Cartons, Inserts/Leaves, and Pressure Sensitive Labels.
• Experience sourcing and purchasing printing materials and packaging components.
• Strong understanding of printing processes, materials, finishing operations, and production workflows.
• Knowledge of paperboard, paper grades, inks, coatings, adhesives, and packaging substrates.
• Familiarity with printing equipment, run speeds, and efficient methods.
• Experience with EFI MIS/ERP systems is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support estimating team to determine production requirements and costs.
• Determine economical manufacturing methods while meeting specs and quality.
• Oversee preparation, review, and maintenance of quotations and proposals.
• Maintain estimating databases, costing models, and pricing structures.
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Analyze historical data to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
• Source, negotiate, and procure paperboard, paper, labels, inks, coatings, and packaging materials.
• Establish and maintain supplier relationships; evaluate performance on quality, service, delivery, pricing.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and service agreements.
• Obtain and evaluate competitive vendor quotations and make purchasing recommendations.
• Identify alternative suppliers/materials to reduce supply chain risk.
• Work with Production, Planning, and Quality to resolve shortages and delivery issues.
• Serve as primary contact for estimating and purchasing activities across the organization.
• Support cost-reduction, margin improvement, supplier consolidation, and efficiency initiatives.
