Job summary

Eurofins USA PSS Insourcing Solutions in Groton, CT seeks an associate scientist to join the Smart Lab within Drug Product Development. You will develop and deploy automation and technology processes for pharmaceutical drug candidates in a lab setting, supporting solid dosage form development.

The role emphasizes designing and prototyping laboratory automation, software-enabled data management, and collaboration with formulation scientists and engineers to deliver DPD workflows.

Qualifications

• MS/BS with lab experience in robotics or related fields.
• Strong coding in C/C++ or Python.
• Basic mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype and develop lab automation solutions for formulation development.
• Assist design/testing of modular hardware for data-rich experiments.
• Enable digital tools for machine learning and self-optimization in automation.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to implement automated equipment in the lab.
• Innovate with collaborators to identify unmet needs and develop solutions.
• Work with formulation scientists and engineers on DPD workflows.
• Implement robotic control systems for orchestration of workflows.
• Enable data management to retrieve and store lab data from manual and automated experiments.
• Participate in department initiatives and external collaborations.
