Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Environmental Lab Technician to perform routine environmental monitoring in aseptic processing and cleanroom environments supporting pharmaceutical manufacturing. You will work with QA/QC and microbiology teams, handling sampling, data entry, and accurate documentation in a regulated setting.

The role offers exposure to multiple career paths, including quality control, microbiology, and validation, with a rotating shift schedule and on-site duties in Maryland Heights, MO.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Biology preferred; Associates considered.
• Entry-level to ~2 years of relevant experience ideal.
• Experience in microbiology or aseptic techniques preferred.
• Background in regulated environments (pharma, labs) advantageous.
• Strong aseptic technique and gowning knowledge.
• Familiarity with cGMP requirements and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine environmental monitoring of aseptic areas and cleanrooms.
• Apply aseptic techniques and gowning protocols during testing.
• Operate SAS/SMA samplers, particle counters, and related equipment.
• Test Water for Injection and gas samples per cGMP procedures.
• Use laminar flow hoods for plate reading and testing tasks.
• Document work accurately per SOPs and quality standards.
• Spend ~70% of time on the floor collecting samples; ~30% in lab work.
• Record and report environmental monitoring data via computers.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, QA, QC, and microbiology teams.
