Express Employment Professionals - Cincinnati East is seeking an Engineering and Maintenance Manager for a pharmaceutical facility in Ayer, MA. This hands-on leadership role drives CAPEX projects, improves equipment reliability, and guides maintenance programs to support safe, compliant plant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years engineering experience in manufacturing/industrial environments.
• 5+ years leadership experience managing maintenance or engineering teams.
• Experience managing CAPEX projects and preventive maintenance programs.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning.
• Knowledge of GMPs, food manufacturing, aseptic or powder processing preferred.
• Strong project management, budgeting, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and provide on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering, maintenance, and facilities teams to support safe plant operations.
• Manage CAPEX projects from planning through implementation on time and within budget.
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs, CMMS, work orders, spare parts inventory, and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Develop engineering solutions to improve production, quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain and other departments on installations/improvements.
• Manage department budgets, contractors, and third-party vendors.
• Lead equipment startups, commissioning, IQ/OQ, troubleshooting, RCA, and CI efforts.
• Hire, coach, develop, and evaluate engineering and maintenance staff.
• Ensure GMP, food safety, ISO standards, and regulatory compliance.
