Job summary

Compliance Management International (CMI), a U.S. risk management firm, is hiring a Construction Safety Specialist to support pharmaceutical construction projects in Rahway, NJ.

This is a long-term career opportunity with room to grow and a focus on building strong field relationships and enforcing safe work practices. The role requires hands-on safety leadership, inspections, hazard assessments, and coaching for contractors and trades, with OSHA compliance as core requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards.
• Experience managing high-risk construction activities.
• Pharma construction experience preferred.
• Current OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification within the past five years.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certifications.
• Ability to work overtime and Saturdays as project needs require.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily safety leadership for contractors and project teams.
• Conduct field inspections, audits, observations, and hazard assessments.
• Coach employees and trade partners on safe work practices.
• Support PTPs, JSAs, permits, orientations, toolbox talks, and incident investigations.
• Identify hazards and drive corrective actions to completion.
• Monitor high-risk work, including electrical, fall protection, confined space, cranes, LOTO, and hot work.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and client safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation and reports.
