Job summary

Novo Nordisk A/S in Petersburg, VA is hiring multiple Technicians to operate API manufacturing equipment to achieve production goals. Initial 4x10 day shifts (M-Thursday) will transition to a 2-2-3 rotating schedule as the site moves into operations in early 2027.

Current hours are 0600–1630 with flexibility dependent on project needs. Reports to an Operations Manager and requires following SOPs, cGMP standards, and qualification activities.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with 3 years of manufacturing experience in a chemical/pharma environment.
• Alternative: Associate’s Degree with at least 1 year of manufacturing experience in a chemical environment.
• Ability to follow SOPs and safety guidelines.
• Experience with GMP/cGMP and ISO standards.
• Experience using data to troubleshoot and solve problems.
• Computer literacy to operate computer-driven manufacturing equipment and office software.
• Ability to read and understand complex product docs and SOPs.
• Ability to write technical product documents.
• Experience with LOTO systems and safety procedures.
• Experience with API and large-scale reactor operations and related processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate API manufacturing equipment to meet production goals.
• Follow GMP documentation and product quality instructions; suggest improvements.
• Review SOPs, JIs and other documents.
• Real-time review of batch records to ensure SOP/cGMP compliance.
• Manage training plans with Area Lead and Shift Supervisor.
• Perform IQ/OQ/PQ validation activities with support from senior technicians.
• Handle bulk solvents, acids, bases and hazardous materials.
• Operate PPE including air hoods and respirators.
• Set up, operate and monitor highly automated processes and systems.
