Job summary

SAS is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Industry Consultant, Pharma, to partner with a US‑based pharmaceutical customer in New Jersey as an embedded consultant on-site or remotely from the US.

You will co-create analytics, AI-driven, and data-centric solutions on SAS platforms, working with business, data science, engineering, and IT teams to deliver measurable impacts in R&D, clinical development, manufacturing, and supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• 8+ years in life sciences/pharma consulting or data analytics delivery roles.
• Hands-on experience building analytics or AI-driven solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• Ability to work embedded with customers, including on-site collaboration in New Jersey and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Serve as embedded consultant with business and technical teams within a large pharmaceutical organization.
• Lead time-boxed innovation sprints (~12 weeks) to design and deliver analytics- and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Translate real-world business challenges into production-ready solutions built on SAS platforms and integrated into customer systems and workflows.
• Apply deep life sciences and pharmaceutical expertise to identify and solve problems across R&D, clinical development, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial operations.
• Co-develop new analytical methods, metrics, and AI-driven approaches that deliver measurable improvements for sponsors and manufacturers.
• Bridge industry context and technical execution, ensuring solutions are innovative, compliant, and usable in regulated environments.
