As a Public Health RN at Richmond County Health Department, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Starting Salary: $57,500.00

Georgia Department of Public Health Commissioner and leaders encourages all employees to engage in regular wellness activities and to make lifestyle choices that promote health and well-being. Job Responsibilities

About

Must be able to promote and protect public health by providing direct patient care, educating individuals and communities about health and wellness and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to include but not be limited to:

assessing, and treating patients with various health conditions, administering medications and providing appropriate treatments per nursing protocols.

Educating patients, families and communities about disease prevention, self-care and health promotion strategies.

Health education, public health interventions, collaboration and documentation are key components to this position.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR

Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or University AND one year of nursing experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional license along with CPR certification.

Please attached a copy of your Georgia nursing license and CPR.

This position is considered a Category 4 under the pre-employment fitness-for duty

  • Category 4: Health-related:

Positions where medical knowledge and skills are required, such as nurses or therapists.

Preferred Qualifications

Public Health experience preferred, but willing to train. 1–3-year nursing experience desired.

DPH accepts educational credential recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and/or the US Department of Education (DOE) will be considered. DPH will contact educational institutions to verify degree, diploma, licensure, etc.

The candidate selected for this position may be subject to pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check.
