Connect passion with purpose. The Fulton County Board of Health provides a variety of services that help protect residents from health threats, increase access to health services to improve health outcomes, and provide information that assists Fulton County citizens in living healthier lives.

The agency is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of PH Registered Nurse 2 within the Fulton County Board of Health in the Maternal Child Health Division.

Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies, and procedures. Focuses on the prevention of illness, injury, or disability, the promotion of health, and the maintenance of the health of populations. Cares for populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.

  • Provides professional nursing care within program policies and procedures.
  • Focuses on enrolling families with children with special needs.
  • Provides case management for enrolled children and their families.
  • Collaborates with MCH programs, Fulton County Board of Health programs, the medical community, local school systems, and other community-based organizations to address family needs.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university, a current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse, and CPR certification. Alternatively, an Associate's degree in nursing with one year of nursing experience, completion of a PHN course within one year of hire, a current Georgia RN license, and CPR certification are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN).
  • One year of experience working with children with special needs.
  • One year of experience in case management/care coordination.

Employment Information

  • Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board rules regarding salary.
  • Fulton County Board of Health considers educational credentials recognized by CHEA and/or the US Department of Education.
  • The selected candidate will undergo pre-employment drug screening, criminal background checks, and reference checks.
